Concrete

We are surrounded by it. Although it is a strong part of our lives, conscious physical contact rarely takes place. This work is not about formal aesthetics. It is a deeper engagement with the omnipresent. The user is forced to turn on the light by touch and has to deal with the cold, brittle material. The attraction of the worn outplays a major role. Old reinforced concrete beams in disrepair inspired me to create this work.
